Administrative Assistant

Location: RM Office in Burr, SK (approx. 19 KM from Humboldt, SK)

Hours of Work: Minimum of three (3) days per week (more during peak times and Administrator’s absence)

Wage: Dependent on experience and qualifications 

Start Date: Negotiable

Duties:

  • Daily activities including telephone reception, customer service, correspondence, filing, data entry and receipting
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing mail
  • Accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations and deposits
  • Assisting with payroll and government remittance
  • Maintaining bylaw and agreement registries
  • Assisting with annual assessment roll, and tax roll changes
  • Assisting in the preparation of council meeting packages and meetings 
  • Ensure office is organized, recording and requisitioning inventory of supplies, anticipating future needs, and providing support where required
  • Various other duties as directed by the Administrator 
  • Will be required to take the LGA classes 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Ability to work with the public
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong willingness to learn
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize work 
  • Flexibility with respect to work schedule (Required to work during Administrator’s absence)
  • Basic accounting skills are considered an asset
  • Experience in municipal operations, budgeting, financial operations, taxation and general office management would be considered an asset
  • Strong communication, management, organizational, and inter-personal skills;
    Agricultural and residential development experience
  • Will be required to take the Local Government Authority classes
  • Strong communication, management, organizational, and inter-personal skills
  • Agricultural and residential development experience
