Administrative Assistant
Location: RM Office in Burr, SK (approx. 19 KM from Humboldt, SK)
Hours of Work: Minimum of three (3) days per week (more during peak times and Administrator’s absence)
Wage: Dependent on experience and qualifications
Start Date: Negotiable
Duties:
- Daily activities including telephone reception, customer service, correspondence, filing, data entry and receipting
- Sorting incoming and outgoing mail
- Accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations and deposits
- Assisting with payroll and government remittance
- Maintaining bylaw and agreement registries
- Assisting with annual assessment roll, and tax roll changes
- Assisting in the preparation of council meeting packages and meetings
- Ensure office is organized, recording and requisitioning inventory of supplies, anticipating future needs, and providing support where required
- Various other duties as directed by the Administrator
- Will be required to take the LGA classes
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Ability to work with the public
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Strong willingness to learn
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Keen attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Flexibility with respect to work schedule (Required to work during Administrator’s absence)
- Basic accounting skills are considered an asset
- Experience in municipal operations, budgeting, financial operations, taxation and general office management would be considered an asset
- Strong communication, management, organizational, and inter-personal skills;
Agricultural and residential development experience - Will be required to take the Local Government Authority classes
